Legacy Footwear signs deal with Chinese company

To expand its production capacity and export shoes, Legacy Footwear PLC, a publicly traded leather and footwear manufacturer, has partnered with Wenzhou Hongshengda Industry manufacturer, a Chinese company. The contract will remain in effect for five years.
According to company sources, this information has been disclosed.
The source claims that Legacy Footwear will use Wenzhou Hongshengda Industry to gather export orders in order to export 300,000 pairs of shoes a year. This will come to 25,000 pairs a month on average. In order to make high-quality shoes, the company will help Legacy Footwear by providing technical support, qualified specialists, and high-quality raw materials.

The company claims that the arrangement under discussion might result in an annual increase in sales of Tk 36 crore. Additionally, the business’s profit can rise by 12–14%. The board of directors anticipates that Legacy Footwear’s sales, earnings, and export market presence will all benefit from the partnership between the two businesses.

In 2000, Legacy Footwear PLC went public on the stock exchange. Tk 43 crore is the company’s paid-up capital. In the most recent fiscal year, its earnings per share (EPS) was 7 paisa, down from 23 paisa the year before.
