Large investors in the strategy of collecting shares at low prices

The country’s stock market has been stuck in a circle of decline for the last two and a half years. Institutional and large investors sold more than bought shares during the period under review. Due to this, the stock market increased for one day, on the contrary, it decreased for three days.

During the discussion period, institutional investors and large investors sold more shares than bought them, reducing the liquidity flow in the stock market and the transactions also came to a standstill. And common investors bleed more.

Data analysis shows that the main index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on January 01, 2022, was at 7 thousand 105 points. The transaction was around 1 thousand 800 crore taka. Since then the index has been falling continuously and the transactions have also continued to fall. On the last working day of the Sheikh Hasina government (04 August), the DSE index stood at 5,229 points. And the transaction fell below Tk 208 crore.

Market people say that after the fall of the Hasina government, institutional investors and big investors have started moving towards the market after the news of the formation of the interim government. The DSE index increased by 786 points after four working days due to their participation. And the transaction has exceeded 2 thousand crore taka.

Still, institutional investors and large investors could not raise the required stake. Now the strategy is to gather shares by reducing the market with sell pressure. Due to this, there has been a big correction in the market today. According to them, after the two-a-day market being so negative, it will move again in an upward trend. They say that a golden future is waiting for the stock market.
