Korean investors seek streamlined investment process, BIDA offers solutions

In a move to streamline foreign investment and address investor concerns, the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) joined forces with the Korea Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KBCCI) for an informative event in Dhaka.

The event, held on Wednesday, and supported by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), and co-sponsored by Eastern Bank PLC, focused on promoting the use of the One Stop Service (OSS) Portal for a simplified and efficient investment process.

Ambassador of Korea Park Young-sik graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, and Mohsina Yasmin, Executive Member (Grade-1), International and Local Investment Promotion, BIDA was present as the Special Guest. The seminar was chaired by Mr. Shahab Uddin Khan, President of KBCCI.

The outcome from this enriching seminar was incredibly positive. Firstly, from this point forward, any challenges encountered by Korean or other foreign investors will be addressed with utmost seriousness by BIDA. And secondly, all kinds of foreign investors can avail the prompt and efficient OSS service from BIDA through OSS Portal which is less time consuming and a more simplified process.

A large number of Korean investors attended the event, who raised their queries during the session and received satisfactory answers from the panel members of BIDA. The investors and other Korean residents also presented their valuable suggestions to the officials of BIDA regarding a friendly environment for the investors as well as to attract higher FDI.
