Karmasangsthan Bank Inaugurates 290th Branch in Dhobaura, Mymensingh

Karmasangsthan Bank inaugurated its 290th branch in Dhobaura Upazila of Mymensingh on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the Dhobaura Upazila Parishad Hallroom.

The branch was formally inaugurated by Bijon Kanti Sarkar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, who attended the event as the chief guest.

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Dr. A.F.M. Matiur Rahman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Karmasangsthan Bank and former Secretary. Special guests included Mohammad Salman Omar Rubel, Member of Parliament for Mymensingh-1 Constituency, Arun Kumar Chowdhury, Managing Director of Karmasangsthan Bank, and Md. Saifur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Mymensingh.

Among others present were Md. Mostafa Kamal Majumder, Director of the Board of Directors of Karmasangsthan Bank and former Additional Secretary, Talukder Salahuddin Ahmad, Reba Rani Saha, former Additional Secretary, Md. Mosharraf Hossain, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Dhobaura, Md. Amirul Islam, General Manager of Karmasangsthan Bank, along with bank officials and employees, local journalists, and distinguished members of the community.

In his welcome address, Managing Director Arun Kumar Chowdhury highlighted the bank’s overall activities and emphasized that unemployment is not a curse but a challenge. He stated that Karmasangsthan Bank is working relentlessly to address this challenge and contribute to the government’s target of creating 10 million jobs by helping generate 9 lacs employment opportunities.

Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, Bijon Kanti Sarkar said that Karmasangsthan Bank has been playing a vital role in creating employment opportunities for unemployed youth and nurturing new entrepreneurs. He urged the local population, including members of small ethnic communities, to utilize the bank’s loan facilities to expand their businesses and improve their socio-economic conditions.

Speaking on the occasion, MP Mohammad Salman Omar Rubel described Dhobaura as a region with immense potential. He expressed optimism that agriculture, fisheries, small businesses, and other economic sectors would become stronger through access to financial assistance and training from Karmasangsthan Bank, leading to the creation of new employment opportunities. He also called for the establishment of a branch in neighboring Haluaghat Upazila.

In his presidential remarks, Chairman Dr. A.F.M. Matiur Rahman described the inauguration of the Dhobaura branch as a milestone for Karmasangsthan Bank. He encouraged local youth, women entrepreneurs, and small business owners to take advantage of the branch’s financial services and move forward on the path of self-employment and economic empowerment.

At the end of the program, the chief guest and other distinguished guests distributed loan cheques among entrepreneurs of the Dhobaura branch.
