Janata Bank PLC has launched its “Visa Dual Currency Debit Card” to provide customers with modern and technology-driven banking services.

The card was formally inaugurated in a virtual ceremony, with Finance Division Secretary Nazma Mobarek attending as the chief guest.

The event was presided over by Janata Bank Chairman Muhammad Fazlur Rahman. Special guests included Bangladesh Bank Executive Director Devdula Roy, Finance Division Joint Secretary and Chief Innovation Officer Farida Yasmin, and Janata Bank Managing Director Md. Mujibur Rahman.

Senior officials of Janata Bank, including deputy managing directors, general managers, and branch managers from across the country, also attended the ceremony virtually.

Speaking as chief guest, Nazma Mobarek described the launch as a milestone for Janata Bank.

According to the bank, the new card will allow customers to make online purchases both domestically and abroad after passport endorsement, book flights and hotels, recharge mobile phones, and withdraw local currency from Visa network ATMs, along with other payment services.
