Janata Bank PLC on Monday held a coordination meeting with its panel lawyers at the bank’s head office to discuss measures for expediting the disposal of ongoing cases in the Money Loan Court (Artha Rin Adalat).
The meeting, organized by the bank’s Law Department, focused on accelerating the settlement of cases related to classified loans and strengthening recovery efforts.
Chairman of Janata Bank, Muhammad Fazlur Rahman, CSP, attended the meeting as the chief guest, while Managing Director Md. Mojibor Rahman presided over the session. Deputy Managing Director Kazi Abdur Rahman and the bank’s enlisted lawyers also participated.
Senior officials from the head office, Dhaka North and Dhaka South divisional offices, including general managers, area heads, deputy general managers of relevant departments, and executives of the Law Department, were present at the meeting.
During the discussion, participants reviewed the current status of cases filed in the Money Loan Court against defaulted and classified loans at branches across the country. They also identified key challenges hindering case resolution and received important directives aimed at overcoming those obstacles and ensuring faster disposal of pending cases.
Bank officials emphasized the need for close coordination among legal teams and field-level offices to improve recovery performance and reduce the volume of unresolved loan-related litigation.
