Professor Dr. A. A. Mahbub Uddin Chowdhury of the Finance Department at the University of Dhaka has recently joined Janata Bank PLC as a director. He has been teaching at the University of Dhaka for the past four decades and has also served as the Chairman of the Department of Finance.
Earlier, he completed his B.Com (Honors) and M.Com degrees with distinction from the Finance Department of the University of Dhaka. He later earned a master’s degree in economics from Nagoya University in Japan under the Monbusho Scholarship. He subsequently obtained his PhD from the University of Dhaka.
He has participated in various seminars and training programs both at home and abroad. Around 35 of his research papers have been published in national and international journals. He received the Dean’s Award as the Best Researcher from the Faculty of Business Studies at the University of Dhaka.
