Jamuna, SJIBL Post Stronger Half-Year Earnings

Listed lenders Jamuna Bank PLC and Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC reported higher earnings for the first half of 2026, according to separate financial statements released through the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).

Jamuna Bank’s earnings per share (EPS) rose 22% to Tk 4.03 for January–June 2026 from Tk 3.31 a year earlier. Second-quarter EPS climbed 49% to Tk 2.09 from Tk 1.40. Its net asset value per share (NAVPS) stood at Tk 30.54 as of June 30.

Shahjalal Islami Bank posted a 12% increase in half-year EPS to Tk 2.77, compared with Tk 2.47 in the same period last year. Second-quarter EPS increased 15% to Tk 1.65 from Tk 1.43, while NAVPS reached Tk 24.33 at the end of June.

The financial statements were approved by the banks’ respective boards on Wednesday and disclosed by the DSE on Thursday.
