International Anti-Corruption Day 2025 Observed in Tangail

Mrinal Tangail Correspondent: Tangail observed International Anti-Corruption Day 2025 with due respect under the theme “Youth Unity Against Corruption: Building a Future of Integrity.” The program began on Tuesday (9 December) morning at the District Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) office with the national anthem and flag hoisting.

District Commissioner Sharifa Haque attended as the chief guest, while Superintendent of Police Muhammad Shamsul Alam Sarkar was the special guest. A human chain and rally, featuring the release of festoons, balloons, and pigeons, started from the Circuit House and concluded at the Shilpakala Academy.

Following the rally, a discussion session was held at the Shilpakala Academy, presided over by Md. Fakhrul Islam, Deputy Director of the District ACC office. The event was jointly organized by the Tangail District ACC office, District Corruption Prevention Committee, and District Administration.

Other attendees included Additional SP H.M. Mahbub Rezwan Siddiqui, Professor Alim Al Raji, President of the District Corruption Prevention Committee, General Secretary Tarun Yusuf, member Mrinal Kanti Roy, and Advocate Jafar Ahmed, President of the Press Club. Officials from various government and non-government organizations, teachers and students, committee members, and distinguished locals were also present.

The program highlighted the importance of youth involvement, integrity, and public awareness in combating corruption.
