Incentive would be given for soft drinks exports

Cash assistance will be provided against the export of juices and drinks prepared from locally produced fruit pulp. Exporters of the plan will receive a cash incentive of 10 percent. The Foreign and Economic Affairs Department of Bangladesh Bank issued a notification in this regard on November 21.

The central bank said that new instructions have been given regarding cash assistance for the export of agricultural products (vegetables/fruits) and processed (agro-processing) agricultural products. As a result, from now on, exporters will receive cash assistance against the export of juices and drinks prepared from locally produced fruit pulp.

Regarding cash assistance for the export of agricultural products and processed agricultural products, the instructions said that a circular issued in 2019 has instructions to provide cash assistance against the export of all types of pastes, fruit bars, canned goods, dehydrated goods, juices, drinks produced from fruits and vegetables. Along with this, cash assistance will be applicable against the export of juices and drinks prepared from locally produced fruit pulp received from associates or different institutions located within the country.

Other instructions of the circular issued earlier regarding the provision of export incentives or cash assistance against the export of agricultural products and processed agricultural products will remain unchanged. From July 1 of this year, exporters have been getting cash assistance at the rate of 10 percent for the export of agricultural products (vegetables/fruits) and processed (agro-processing) agricultural products.
