IFIC Bank has issued a legal notice to ‘Sakib Al Hasan Agro Farm Limited’, owned by the former captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team, Shakib Al Hasan.
Banani branch of IFIC Bank issued legal notice through daily newspaper as per Negotiable Instruments Act.
In this, the bank said, ‘within 30 working days of receiving this notice, the company has to repay the total amount owed to the bank of Tk.4.14 crore. If payment is not made within this period, legal action will be taken against Shakib’s company.
In the legal notice, the bank said, Shakib is serving as the chairman of ‘Saqib Al Hasan Agro Farm Limited’. The company’s operations are in Satkhira. In 2017, the company took 1 crore as working capital and 1.50 crore as term loan from the bank. Later, as the money taken as working capital was not paid on time, the bank converted this money into a term loan. The company issued two checks to the bank on September 4 this year, after issuing several notices seeking refund. But the check bounced due to insufficient funds in the respective account.
