IFIC Bank holds workshop on currency management

IFIC Bank PLC underscored its commitment to modern banking by hosting a day-long workshop, “Currency Management by Scheduled Bank’s Branches,” to professionalise its currency handling.

On 4 April 2026 at IFIC Tower, Purana Paltan, Dhaka, the session featured AKM Rezaul Karim, Director of the Bangladesh Bank Training Academy, who led as the primary resource person. Participants discussed challenges and solutions in currency management and cash processing, followed by guidance on regulatory compliance, Bangladesh Bank directives, and modern cash management systems.

Tagore Lakshaman Chandra Ghosh, Head of the Customer Service Centre, and William Chowdhury, Head of the Currency Management Department at IFIC Bank PLC, also joined the event. More than 600 officials from IFIC Bank’s branches and uposhakhas in Dhaka and adjoining regions participated in person and online.

Participants left the workshop equipped with enhanced skills in note handling and regulatory compliance, expected to improve the bank’s overall currency management standards and service quality.
