BM Report : Fazlur Rahman, a legendary entreprenuer of the country, is set to be remembered elaborately today on his first death anniversary.

Rahman was founder of City Group, one of the largest industrial conglomerates in Bangladesh. The group is set to observe death anniversary of its visionary founder through religious prayers and remembrance meeting in the city.

Fazlur Rahman’s passing on 25th of December in 2023, marked the end of an era, but his legacy continues to inspire the organization, its employees, business partners and the nation.

A towering figure in Bangladesh’s industrial landscape, Fazlur Rahman, passed away at the age of 77 at United Hospital in Dhaka this day last year after battling respiratory illnesses. His contributions to the nation’s economy over a span of five decades left an indelible mark, earning him admiration across business, political, and social spheres.

A Life of Dedication and Leadership

Born with an entrepreneurial spirit, Fazlur Rahman laid the foundation of City Group in 1972 with a mustard oil crushing mill. Last year, his funeral, held at the Gandaria Dhupkhola playground in Old Dhaka, witnessed an outpouring of grief as family, friends, employees, and well-wishers gathered to bid farewell to a man who had touched countless lives. He was laid to rest at Zurain graveyard, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, determination, and innovation.
