Aftab Momin Bhuiyan Fani : A human chain was held demanding the establishment of one of the three proposed China-Bangladesh Friendship Hospitals in Feni.
The human chain was held in front of the Feni Shaheed Minar on Saturday, April 19, under the banner of the Feni Conscious Civic Society.
District BNP convener Sheikh Farid Bahar, joint convener Mohammad Yakub Nabi, District Islamic Movement General Secretary Ekramul Haque Bhuiyan, District Jamaat-e-Islami Publicity Secretary Abdur Rahim, College Teachers Association General Secretary Morshed Hossain, etc. spoke at the human chain.
The speakers said that due to various reasons, the people of Feni and the greater Noakhali region are deprived of healthcare. No high-quality hospital or medical college has been established in Feni. Seriously ill patients have to be taken to Chittagong or Dhaka, and many times patients die on the way due to long traffic jams on the road. Feni is an important district from a geographical point of view. The main transit of import and export in the country is the Dhaka-Chittagong highway through Feni. Feni is a district known for its large contribution to the country’s economy through expatriate remittances.
