The National Board of Revenue (NBR) recently designated GPH Ispat Limited, the top producer of steel rebar in the nation, as an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO).

The award was accepted by GPH Ispat Managing Director Muhammad Jahangir Alam during a ceremony held in accordance with the Bangladesh Customs Modernization and Customs Strategic Plan 2024-28.

GPH Ispat has reaffirmed its strong commitment to supply chain security and international trade policies with this recognition. Consequently, the company’s acceptance and dependability in global trade will rise, operational expenses will be decreased, and the customs clearance process will be expedited.

Additionally, GPH Ispat uses Quantum Electric Arc Furnace technology to produce top-notch rods and billets. The company’s current export of billets to China is opening up new opportunities for Bangladesh’s export industry.

It is anticipated that this recognition will improve Bangladeshi industries’ ability to export and solidify the nation’s standing in the international marketplace.
