Governor wants to reduce inflation to 5%.

BM Desk : The goal set by the administration is to reduce inflation to 6.5 percent. Bangladesh Bank, however, aims to reduce inflation to 5%. We will succeed if we can accomplish this, Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur, governor of Bangladesh Bank, stated.

The governor of the Bangladesh Bank said these things on Tuesday, June 24, during a Google Pay launch event that was hosted at a hotel in the capital. Tracy N. Jacobson, Chargé d’Affaires at the US Embassy, and Hasan Khaled, Vice Chairman of City Bank, were among the special guests at the function..

Additionally in attendance were senior executives from the following organizations: Mastercard Bangladesh Country Manager Mohammad Kamal, Visa Bangladesh Country Manager Sabbir Ahmed, Google Payments Group Product Manager Shammi Quddus, and City Bank Managing Director and CEO Masrur Arefin.

According to Governor Ahsan H. Mansur, the administration wants to reduce inflation to 6.5 percent. But our goal is to reduce it to 5 percent. We will be successful if we can accomplish this.
“We are attempting to reach the cashless world, but it is already doable,” he said, adding that international businesspeople will assist the nation rather than launder money when they visit. With the introduction of Google Pay, Bangladesh has advanced toward a cashless society.

He also said, we hope that more domestic and foreign entrepreneurs will meet in Bangladesh. When foreigners complete any work in Bangladesh, the country benefits at the end of the day.

The governor said that school children will be gradually brought under the banking system and added, we want to completely fix the financial sector. In the meantime, the risk-based audit process of 20 banks has been completed, and 7 more banks will be closed by the end of July. Under no circumstances will the banking sector be allowed to return to its previous state.

In reference to the cost in US dollars, he stated, “Dubai will not influence the value of our national currency. For this reason, the dollar has been made available to the market.

“This relationship underlines our commitment to Bangladesh’s forward-thinking digital payment system,” stated Masrur Arefin, Managing Director and CEO of City Bank. We take pride in offering our clients more intelligent and practical payment options.

With the introduction of Google Wallet, City Bank has demonstrated once more that they are the nation’s leaders in digital innovation, guaranteeing secure, cutting-edge, and globally recognized banking services.
