The government has decided to keep the current minimum tax structure unchanged for individuals with taxable income in Dhaka and Chattogram city corporations in the proposed national budget for FY2024-25.
Under this proposal, taxpayers, excluding company taxpayers, residing in Dhaka North, Dhaka South, and Chattogram city corporations will continue to pay a minimum tax of Tk 5,000. Those residing in other city corporations will pay Tk 4,000, while individuals living outside city corporation areas will have a minimum tax of Tk 3,000.
Finance Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali presented the Tk 7,97,000 crore budget proposal for FY2024-25 in parliament on Thursday afternoon. This budget includes a substantial allocation aimed at various development projects and essential sectors, maintaining the government’s focus on growth and stability.
