New secretaries have been appointed across three ministries: Water Resources, Social Welfare, and Education.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a separate notification regarding this on Monday, August 18.

Md. Mokabbir Hossain has been designated as the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Water Resources, having previously held the position of Senior Secretary at the Ministry of Science and Technology. It is important to mention that Nazmul Ahsan, the former Secretary of the Ministry of Water Resources, commenced post-retirement leave on August 17.

Mohammad Abu Yusuf, who was serving as Additional Secretary in the Finance Department, has been promoted to the new Secretary of the Ministry of Social Welfare. The Ministry of Public Administration has released a separate notification confirming his promotion. Md. Mohiuddin, the previous Secretary of the Ministry of Social Welfare, retired on August 4.

Rehana Parveen, the Executive Chairman of the National Skill Development Authority (NSDA), has been appointed as the first female secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Department within the Ministry of Education. Following student objections on July 23, contractual Senior Secretary Siddique Zubair was removed, and she was subsequently assigned to the Ministry of Public Administration.
