Gold prices in Bangladesh hit record highs

The price of gold increased by Tk 1,750 in the country’s market. As a result, the price of 22 carat (good quality) gold rose to 1 lakh 6 thousand 375 taka.

This is the highest record price of gold in the history of the country. The new prices will be effective on Sunday.

The decision was announced on Saturday at the meeting of the price determination committee of the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS).

According to the new price, the price of the best quality, i.e., 22 carat (11.664 grams) gold, will be 1 lakh 6 thousand 375 taka. 1 lakh 1 thousand 535 taka per 21 carat; 18 carat price: 87 thousand 13 taka; and traditional gold price: 72 thousand 550 taka.

However, the price of silver remains unchanged. As before, the price of 22-carat silver (heavy) will be Tk 1,715, 21-carat silver will be Tk 1,633, 18-carat silver will be Tk 1,400, and traditional silver will be Tk 1,050.
