GI registration certificate received for Tangail’s Sandesh and Pineapple

Mrinal Kanti Roy, Tangail :Tangail Deputy Commissioner & District Magistrate Sharifa Haque received the GI registration certificates of Sandesh from Jamurki in Mirzapur, Tangail and Pineapple from Madhupur at the Geographical Indication (GI) Product Certificate Distribution Ceremony held at the Foreign Service Academy organized by the Department of Patents, Industrial Designs and Trademarks of the Ministry of Industries on the occasion of World Intellectual Property Day 2025. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Adilur Rahman Khan, Honorable Advisor to the Ministry of Industries of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, and Mr. Mostafa Sarwar Farooqui, Honorable Advisor to the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Md. Obaidur Rahman, Secretary of the Ministry of Industries. After receiving the GI registration certificate, Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque said that she sincerely congratulated everyone involved in the production, marketing and promotion of all these products including Chamchom, Saree, Sandesh, Pineapple. We will all work together to ensure the conservation, promotion and sustainable development of our GI products. This is the achievement of the people of Tangail. This is the pride of Bangladesh.
