In the first three months of this fiscal year, the GDP grew at the slowest rate in the previous four years. The rate was 1.81 percent during the first three months of the current fiscal year (July–September), compared to 6.04 percent during the same period in the previous fiscal year.
This data was made public by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) on Monday, January 6.
According to the report, the agricultural sector grew by 0.16 percent in the first three months of the current fiscal year compared to 0.35 percent during the same period in the previous fiscal year.
Furthermore, the industrial sector grew by 2.13 percent, compared to 8.22 percent during the same period in the previous fiscal year. The growth in the services sector was 1.54 percent in the last three months, which was 5.07 percent in the same period of the last fiscal year.
