A new gas reservoir has been discovered following the workover of well number 3 in the Rashidpur gas field, situated in the Bahubal upazila of Habiganj district. It is anticipated that gas valued at Tk 4,700 crore will be produced from this site over the coming ten years.
On Friday, September 5, Sylhet Gas Fields Limited (SGFL) announced the presence of natural gas flow in the well.
On Sunday, September 7, SGFL issued a statement verifying the discovery of gas.
According to the announcement, it is anticipated that well number 3 of the Rashidpur gas field will yield 25.55 million cubic feet of gas over the next ten years. Based on the current LNG price of Tk 65 per cubic meter, the gas extracted from this well is expected to be worth Tk 4,700 crore.
SGFL representatives indicated that the workover of well number 3 has been successfully completed by the technically proficient staff of SGFL and Bapex. The company is currently focused on drilling operations at Sylhet-10X, Sylhet-11, Dupitila-1, Kailastila-9, Rashidpur-11, and Rashidpur-13, as well as the workover of wells at Kailastila-9 and Beanibazar-2.
