Fire safety and rescue mock drill held at Tangail hospitals

Tangail Correspondent: A mock drill on firefighting, rescue operations, first aid and on-site patient management was held at Tangail 250-bed General Hospital and the 500-bed Medical College and Hospital on Wednesday.

The drill was conducted under the supervision of the district administration with the slogan, “In accidents and disasters, beside everyone before everyone.”

District Commissioner Sharifa Haque attended the event as the chief guest. A team of around 70 members from Fire Service and Civil Defence and other stakeholders participated in the exercise, led by Assistant Director Md Enayet Hossain.

The demonstration showcased emergency response procedures during a hospital fire, including extinguishing fires, rescuing injured patients, providing first aid and restoring normal conditions.

District Commissioner Sharifa Haque said similar drills would also be organised in upazilas to increase public confidence and improve awareness of what to do during emergencies.
