Dulamia Cotton Spinning Mills Limited, a listed company in the textile sector, has leased a part of the factory to Shanes Crop-Science Bangladesh Limited (CCSBL). In this, the company will earn 4 lakh 2 thousand 800 taka per month for rent. The company disclosed this information through the stock exchange yesterday.
According to information, Dulamia has leased 17,640 square feet of cotton factory space to CCSBL. It has earned 3 lakh 52 thousand 800 taka per month as rent of 20 taka per square foot and 50 thousand taka per month as various facilities and maintenance expenses as 2 taka 50 paisa per square foot.
DSE informed in March this year that the exchange had visited Dulamia Cotton Mills in September last year to check the current status of the factory. But they could not enter the factory as the company’s factory was closed and locked. As a result they could not conduct inspection activities.
Dulamia Cotton Mills posted a loss of 30 paisa per share in the first three quarters (July-March) of the last fiscal year 2023-24, as against 65 paisa in the corresponding period of the previous financial year. The company posted a loss of 16 paisa per share in the third quarter (January-March) of the current financial year, as against 19 paisa in the corresponding period of the previous financial year. At the end of March 31 this year, the company’s net liability per share (NAVPS) stood at 39 76 paisa.
The company has not declared any dividend to investors in the financial year 2023 ended June 30. The company did not pay any dividend in the financial year 2021-22. Due to losses, the company did not declare any dividend for the investors in the financial years 2017-18, 2019-20 and 2020-21.
Established more than three decades ago, Dulamia produces cotton yarn, which is mainly used in the local textile industry. The company of Multimode Group came to the stock market in 1989. The authorized capital of the company is 30 crores and paid up capital is 7 crore 55 lakh 70 thousand taka. Out of the company’s 75 lakh 56 thousand 600 shares, 33.01 percent shares are held by entrepreneurial directors, 6.81 percent by institutional investors and the remaining 60.18 percent by general investors.
The company’s shares were last traded at Tk 71.30 on DSE yesterday. Shares of the company have fluctuated between 52 taka 60 to 78 taka 80 paisa in the last one year.
