Evince Group wins BGMEA Cup

Textile and apparel export sector giant Evince Group has won the BGMEA Cup 2023, securing a thrilling 3-1 victory against Mosharraf Apparels Ltd.

The highly anticipated final match, held at the Bangladesh Army Stadium in Dhaka on Friday, showcased exceptional talent and competitive spirit of both teams, captivating the audience with a display of skillful plays and strategic maneuvers.

Evince Group’s unwavering determination and cohesive teamwork proved to be the deciding factors, as they clinched the coveted title.

Later at a ceremony, Faruque Hassan, President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association, presented the champion trophy to the jubilant Evince Group team. BGMEA Vice President Shahidullah Azim, Vice President (Finance) Khandoker Rafiqul Islam, former Vice President Moshiul Azam Shajal, Director Md. Imranur Rahman, and Director of Giant Group Sharmeen Hassan Tithi were also present at the ceremony.

Individual awards were also presented to recognize the outstanding contributions of players throughout the tournament. Salauddin of Evince Group was named the Man of the Final for his exceptional skills and significant impact on his team’s success. Atique Shahriar Raihan of the same group received the Most Valuable Player award for his consistent brilliance throughout the competition.

Imranur Rahman of Bando Design Ltd was recognized as the Best Playmaker of the tournament for his exceptional vision and ability to orchestrate his team’s attacks, while Rahbar of the same team claimed the Top Scorer award for his prolific goal-scoring prowess.

The BGMEA Cup, organized since 2016, this year brought together 16 top-tier teams, divided into four groups, in a series of exciting matches. Matches was played at the Uttara Sector 4 Kallyan Samiti ground in Dhaka, where the teams showcased their athleticism, passion, and sporting spirit.

The tournament was sponsored by Sheltech Ceramics, Turag Activewear, T-Sports, BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT), Green Textile Ltd, Pacific Jeans, Club 11 Entertainment, Twelve Clothing, Porcelanosa Bangladesh, and Laila Group extended their support as Gold. Uttara Sector 4 Kallyan Samiti provided the venue for the tournament, while AAMRA and Movement Solutions BD served as the internet and fitness partners, respectively.
