Evicted shops on canals in Bhola

Mannan,Bhola Correspondent: Shops that were being constructed on the canals in Moniram Bazar of Borhanuddin, Bhola, have been removed. On June 28, under the guidance of Upazila Executive Officer Raihan-Uzzaman, the construction activities for these shops were halted, and bonds were secured. During this operation, awareness was raised regarding the mandatory jail fines stipulated in the Land Crime Prevention and Remedies Act 2023.

“Following the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Azad Jahan, the construction of shops on the canals was halted, and bonds were secured,” Raihanuzzaman noted in this regard. At this juncture, shop owners were directed to present their land documents, as they asserted that the land was privately owned. He mentioned that if necessary, the government’s interests would be safeguarded by conducting a survey.

This initiative was carried out with the assistance of Borhanuddin Police Station. Raihanuzzaman cautioned that such initiatives will persist as part of the Upazila administration’s efforts for the public good.
