B Mirror Desk : The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has sanctioned nine new initiatives, with an estimated implementation cost of 3,756.20 crore taka.
This approval was granted during an ECNEC meeting held in the NEC conference room of the Planning Commission in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka, on Wednesday, May 7. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor to the interim government and ECNEC Chairperson. Following the meeting, Planning Advisor Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud announced that the Chief Advisor had approved nine projects totaling 3,756.20 crore taka, with 2,798.19 crore taka sourced from government funds, 8,129.5 crore taka from foreign loans, and 145.6 crore taka from the organization’s own resources.
Additionally, he mentioned that the government is currently unable to determine the future of the newly established district-level universities, leading to a decision against initiating any new projects for the development or expansion of their infrastructure.
