ECNEC approves five projects worth Tk 483.43cr 

B Mirror Report:  The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) today approved five development projects with a total estimated cost of Tk 483.43 crore.

Of the total, Tk 390.84 crore will be financed from the government exchequer, while Tk 92.59 crore will come from project loans and grants.

The approvals were given at the 9th ECNEC meeting of the 2025–26 fiscal year and the first meeting of the current government, held at the Cabinet Division conference room in the capital. The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

Among the approved projects, the General Social Infrastructure Development Project-2 (GSIDP-2), implemented by the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), has been revised to Tk 1,450 crore with a completion deadline set for June 2027.

The Char Development and Settlement Project-4 (CDSP-4), however, saw its cost reduced to Tk 30.7186 crore.

The IT Training and Incubation Center project received a cost increase of Tk 228.4454 crore, bringing the total to Tk 533.5492 crore, with an extended timeline until June 2026.

The modernization of diagnostic imaging facilities in eight divisional medical college hospitals has been revised upward to Tk 1,213.7050 crore, with the project extended to June 2028.

Additionally, the Establishment of Gopalganj Dental College and Hospital (2nd Revision) project was approved with an increased cost of Tk 26.49 crore, bringing the total to Tk 139.3093 crore. The project is expected to be completed by June 2026.
