ECNEC approves 12 projects with Tk 8000 crore

The government intends to start building 20 fire stations in strategic areas throughout the nation. Twelve of these will be brand-new, while five of the current fire stations will be renovated. This project is one of 12 that were approved at the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) meeting.

On Sunday, July 23, the ECNEC meeting approved the projects. The total cost of carrying of these initiatives will be Tk. Tk 5 crore 5 lakh will come from the government, Tk 1 crore 5 lakh will come from a project loan, and Tk 12 crore 12 lakh would come from the organization itself.

The ‘Fire Service and Civil Defense Station’ project was one of the 12 approved ideas in the nation; it was stated after the conference. Tk will be spent on this project in total. The planned implementation period is July 2021–June 2021.

These initiatives were approved in the NEC conference room on the Planning Commission’s grounds under the direction of Chief Advisor and ECNEC Chairperson Dr. Muhammad Yunus. This includes an increase in spending without incurring new expenses, three new projects, and one project that has been revised. Home Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Planning Advisor Wahiduddin Mahmud, Law Advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul, Housing and Public Works Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan, Road Transport Advisor Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan, and Environment Advisor Syeda Rizwana Hassan.
