The Soil, Water, and Environment Department of Dhaka University celebrated the achievements of its meritorious students by awarding gold medals.
Dhaka University’s Vice-Chancellor, ASM Maksud Kamal, graced the event as the chief guest. He presented the gold medals and scholarship checks to the deserving students during a function held at the departmental auditorium on Thursday.
Five students who secured the first position in the MS examination across different years received the prestigious ‘Osman Ghani Gold Medal.’ Additionally, the ‘Jebunnesa-Altaf Memorial Gold Medal’ was conferred upon five students who excelled in the Graduation (Honors) Examination. Furthermore, 13 outstanding students from various years were granted scholarships.
The ceremony was presided over by the Chairman of the Department of Soil, Water, and Environment, Harunor Rashid Khan, with the Dean of the Faculty of Biology, AKM Mahbub Hasan, participating as a special guest. Akhtar Hussain Khan, the Executive Director of ‘SWED-DU Trust,’ conducted the program.
Vice-Chancellor ASM Maksud Kamal emphasized the importance of nurturing students into skilled human resources who can contribute to building a prosperous Bangladesh.
