DU Rover Scout Group hosts Fresher’s Reception and Farewell

In a vibrant atmosphere, the Dhaka University Rover Scout Met Council 2022-23 bid farewell to its outgoing members and welcomed its new inductees at a combined farewell and fresher’s reception held in the capital on Wednesday.

The event was graced by the presence of ASM Maqsood Kamal, the Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University and Chief Patron of the University Rover Scout Group, who served as the Chief Guest, according to a press release.

Other distinguished guests included Mahmudur Rahman, the Editor and Chief Rover Scout Leader of Dhaka University Rover Scout Group; Maqsudur Rahman, the University Proctor; and Abdur Rahim, the Principal of Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haque Hall.

Mumit Al Rashid, the Treasurer of Dhaka University Rover Scout Group; Mehedi Hasan PS, the outgoing Senior Rover Mate; and Sartaj Sahadat PS, the newly appointed Senior Rover Mate, delivered inspiring addresses to the gathering. Fatima Akhter, the Girl-in-Rover Leader of the University Rover Scout Group, skillfully conducted the program.

The event marked the transition between the outgoing and incoming Met Council members, celebrating the contributions of the former and welcoming the new leadership. It also provided an opportunity for the Rover Scouts to strengthen their camaraderie and reaffirm their commitment to the group’s ideals of service and community engagement.
