DU admission test: Application on Dec 18, no ‘second time’

Dhaka University (DU) admission test schedule for the undergraduate program for the 2023-24 academic year has been finalized. The admission test for the current academic year will start from February 23. Besides, the application for admission will start from noon on December 18. Moreover, there is “no second time” in the current academic year.

These decisions were taken at the general admission committee meeting held at the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban Auditorium of the university on Tuesday. DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) ASM Maksud Kamal presided over the meeting.

The application process will start on Monday (December 18) at 12 pm and end at 11:59 pm on January 5. From 8 February 2024, the admit card for the admission test can be downloaded till one hour before the start of the examination of the respective unit.

  • Arts, law and social science unit will be held on Friday 23 February 2024
  • Business education unit will be held on Saturday 24 February 2024.
  • Science unit will be held on Friday 1 March 2024
  • Fine arts unit (general knowledge and drawing) will be held on Saturday 9 March 2024.

Apart from the ‘fine arts unit’, the admission test for the other three units will be held in eight divisional cities including Dhaka. The departmental centers are Rajshahi University, Chittagong University, Barishal University, Khulna University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh Agricultural University and Begum Rokeya University.

The meeting details showed that the decision was taken to take an MCQ of 60 marks and a written test of 40 marks in the admission test of all units, except the fine arts unit. It is decided to take the MCQ of 40 marks and the drawing test of 60 marks only in the fine Arts unit examination.
