DSE Warns of WhatsApp Investment Scams

A group of dishonest individuals operating in the stock market are exploiting the name, address, and logo of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) to perpetrate fraud via WhatsApp groups. DSE officials have indicated that this fraudulent behavior is endangering investors through innovative methods.

Taking this issue seriously, DSE has already dispatched formal letters to the regulatory body, all brokerage firms, CDBL, banks, and other relevant institutions. Furthermore, investors have been cautioned through banners displayed on the website. A report has also been lodged with the Khilkhet police station, and an investigation is currently being conducted by intelligence agencies.

DSE has explicitly stated that the only legitimate channels for trading shares or securities are through DSE and CSE approved brokerage firms and the DSE mobile application. Any offers promising additional profits are not legitimate. Therefore, it is a call to investors – remain vigilant, steer clear of fraud, and invest wisely.
