DSE Turnover Drops Amid Mixed Index Performance

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) witnessed a decline in turnover on Tuesday, despite mixed movements across key index. This marks a further drop in trading volume compared to the previous session.

According to DSE data, the benchmark index DSEX gained 34.89 points, closing at 5,509 points. The DSES (Shariah index) rose by 7.76 points to 1,194, while the DS30, comprising blue-chip stocks, edged down 0.60 points to settle at 2,134.

Total turnover stood at Tk 674.13 crore, down from Tk 706.32 crore in the previous trading day.

A total of 400 companies traded shares and units on the day. Among them, prices increased for 221 companies, declined for 103, and remained unchanged for 76.

Market analysts attributed the mixed index movement and declining turnover to cautious investor sentiment ahead of upcoming market and economic updates.
