DSE market cap rises Tk3,863 crore in a week

The market capitalisation of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) increased by Tk3,863 crore during the week, supported by gains across all major indexs, according to the bourse’s weekly market review.

At the close of the week’s final trading session, the DSE’s total market capitalisation stood at Tk7,05,133 crore, up from Tk7,01,270 crore a week earlier. This represents a 0.55% weekly increase.

The benchmark DSEX Index advanced 91.28 points, or 1.57%, during the week. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 12.18 points, or 1.03%, while the DS30 Index, which tracks blue-chip stocks, rose 24.50 points, or 1.12%.

A total of 388 listed companies and mutual fund units were traded throughout the week. Of these, 264 issues posted gains, 89 declined, and 35 remained unchanged, reflecting broadly positive market sentiment.

Despite the rise in market value and indices, trading activity eased slightly. The average daily turnover stood at Tk1,059.92 crore, compared with Tk1,063.26 crore in the previous week, marking a 0.31% decline in average daily trading value.
