DSE index gains as turnover declines

Trading on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) ended higher on Monday, the second trading day of the week, as most listed shares and mutual fund units gained. However, turnover declined slightly compared with the previous session.

According to DSE data, the benchmark DSEX index rose 22.55 points to close at 5,844.

The DSES index gained 0.60 points to 1,174, while the DS-30 index advanced 8.56 points to 2,185.

Turnover on the DSE stood at Tk 908.40 crore on Monday, down from Tk 964.59 crore in the previous trading session.

A total of 392 companies and mutual funds traded on the day. Of them, prices of 199 securities increased, while 129 declined. The prices of 64 securities remained unchanged.
