DSE Index Climbs, but Turnover Slips

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed trading on a positive note on Wednesday, even as overall turnover declined compared to the previous session. Despite broad-based gains, with share prices of 310 companies increasing, the market saw lower investor participation in terms of transaction value.

According to DSE data, the key index DSEX advanced by 54.49 points, reaching 4,901 points. The DSES index also gained 11.74 points to stand at 1,029 points, while the DS-30 index rose by 3.66 points to 1,893 points.

Turnover, however, dropped to Tk 420.55 crore, down from Tk 475.53 crore recorded in the previous trading day.

A total of 376 companies traded shares and units during the session. Of them, 310 issues closed higher, 36 declined, and 30 remained unchanged.
