Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s premier stock market, ended Tuesday’s trading session on a positive note, with its key indices rising amid broad-based gains.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the DSE, gained 39.22 points to settle at 5,637 points.
The DSES index rose 5.92 points to 1,130 points, while the DS-30 index advanced 8.79 points to 2,122 points.
Trading turnover also increased significantly during the session. Shares and units worth Tk 596.82 crore changed hands on the DSE, compared with Tk 477.25 crore in the previous trading session.
A total of 388 companies and mutual funds participated in trading on the day. Of them, prices of 300 securities advanced, while 50 declined and 38 remained unchanged.
The market’s broad-based gains came as buying interest strengthened across a large number of listed securities.
