Don’t Miss Out,Month-Long Returns Policy Begins Today.

The Tax Information Service Month is starting from Sunday (November 3) to provide all kinds of services to taxpayers in a fair environment, including income tax return filing. Tax service will be available uninterruptedly during office hours in 650 circles of 41 tax zones of the country including Dhaka and Chittagong throughout the month of November.

Income tax fair is not being held this year like last four years. That is why the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has organized mini Karmelas in the atmosphere of tax fairs in each tax zone.

NBR has been organizing tax fair every year since 2010. However, income tax fair is closed in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023. In 2020 and 2021, the Karmela was closed due to the Corona pandemic, but considering the additional cost, it has been decided not to organize the Income Tax Mela this time as well.

NBR called a press conference on Sunday on the occasion of Income Tax Information Service Month. Earlier, NBR Chairman Abdur Rahman Khan told the media that we want to encourage income tax payers to submit returns online. Returns can be easily submitted from home using WiFi network. As a result, I didn’t have to go to the tax office, I didn’t have to go to the bank. Acknowledgment will be available immediately.

This time also, NBR will set up a return deposit booth at the secretariat for government employees. Which will be open from 3rd to 17th November. And in Sherbangla Nagar government employees will get this service from 19 to 23 November. A special arrangement is being made to submit the returns of the members of the military forces at the Army Malanche.

All services available in tax zones
Instead of income tax fairs, tax commissioners areas will serve taxpayers for receipt of income tax returns from November 3 to 30 in a grand and festive atmosphere.

Every office should make return receiving environment attractive by placing return receiving booth and help desk in open space or car parking area. At the same time taxpayers filing returns will be gifted with immediate acknowledgment of receipt as an incentive for filing returns.

There will be a system to show how to file the return online. No need to go to the office to get the tax certificate if you file the return online.

E-TIN registration and re-registration should be done at all Tax Commissioner Service Centres.

Each tax zone has its own website to be updated with the information. Various income tax related forms, circulars, return filling guidelines, video tutorials and other necessary information should be inserted on that website.

Tax zones will continue to operate under their own management. Along with other media, the campaign will continue through digital media.

Apart from this, in the first week of December, an award ceremony will be organized in an elite hotel of the capital for awarding the national tax card and the best tax payers of the tax zones of Dhaka.

On the other hand, outside Dhaka, Chittagong’s 4 tax zones will be awarded centrally and all other tax zones in their own management through proper formalities based on district and city corporation.
