Diplomatic community gathers for Tiger Golf Club’s gala event

Event highlights Golf’s role in reducing social distance and promoting health

Tiger Golf Club (TGC) hosted a distinguished get-together and dinner at Khazana on Friday, Dhaka, sponsored by EduQuest. The event brought together high commissioners, ambassadors, and notable business icons in a celebration of camaraderie and the benefits of golf.

Heru Hartanto Subolo, President of Tiger Golf Club and Indonesian Ambassador to Bangladesh, extended a warm welcome to all the high commissioners and distinguished guests present. 

In his address, Mr. Subolo emphasized the multifaceted benefits of golf, stating, “This is more than just a welcome; it’s a reminder that golf brings us closer, promotes health, and fosters friendships. At TGC, we are organizing another tournament to enhance member engagement. Every member’s happiness is our priority, and TGC is dedicated to ensuring that. Golf brings blessings to everyone.”

In his closing remarks, Mr. Subolo expressed his aspirations for the club, stating, “TGC aims to become the best golf club in Bangladesh.”

Sarah Cooke, British High Commissioner to Bangladesh and Vice President of TGC, also addressed the gathering. She remarked, “It’s such a pleasure to see everyone this evening. Tiger Golf Club is an incredibly enthusiastic organization. As all club authorities emphasize, learning golf is vital for fostering good health and reducing social distance. TGC’s dedication to promoting the sport is truly commendable.”

Ghanshyam Bhandari, the Nepal Ambassador, shared his optimism about the club’s future, saying, “I hope TGC will bring the best qualitative excellence in the coming years.”

The event saw the presence of several prominent figures, including Malaysian Ambassador Haznah Md Hashim, Vietnamese Ambassador Pham Viet Chien, Myanmar Ambassador Aung Kyaw Moe, and ambassadors from the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Brunei, and many other countries. Many business icons also attended, adding to the evening’s prestige.

Throughout the evening, the atmosphere was filled with lively conversations, fostering a spirit of unity and shared purpose. The event underscored the significant role of golf in building strong social networks and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
