“All preparations for commercial train movement have been completed,” stated Golam Raboani, the in-charge Station Master at Cox’s Bazar Iconic Railway Station. “The first train will leave for Dhaka from Cox’s Bazar station tomorrow at 12:30 pm.”
Two trains will operate daily on this route, offering passengers a choice between AC and non-AC compartments. The AC fare from Cox’s Bazar to Dhaka is set at Taka 1,325, while the non-AC fare is Taka 695. For trips between Cox’s Bazar and Chattogram, the AC fare is Taka 470 and the non-AC fare is Taka 250.
The public’s enthusiasm for the new rail route is evident as all advance tickets for December 10 have already been sold out. The Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar rail line is expected to significantly boost tourism in Cox’s Bazar, providing travelers with a convenient and scenic alternative to road travel.
The launch of commercial train services on the Dhaka-Cox’s Bazar route is a testament to Bangladesh’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and promoting sustainable transportation solutions. This development is sure to have a transformative impact on the lives of Bangladeshi citizens and the country’s tourism industry.
