Desh General Insurance Company Limited (DGIC) has elected Rokeya Kader as chairman and Engineer A.K.M. Ahsanul Haque as vice chairman of the company’s board of directors.
The decision was taken at the company’s 164th board meeting, according to a press release.
Re-elected chairman Rokeya Kader said the company’s main goal is to build on its longstanding reputation and achievements and transform DGIC into a modern, efficient, technology-driven and customer-centric general insurance company.
“We want to open up new opportunities through the collective efforts of the board of directors, management and employees,” she said.
Newly elected vice chairman Engineer A.K.M. Ahsanul Haque said DGIC is committed to strengthening its position in the competitive insurance market by ensuring customer trust, faster services, efficient underwriting, timely settlement of claims and good governance.
The board expressed hope that the new leadership would help expand the company’s business, strengthen its financial capacity, improve technology-based services, develop bancassurance and reinsurance management, and enhance customer service.
