Deshbandhu Group sells food essentials at subsidized prices

BM Report:

Deshbandhu Group is now selling daily essentials like rice, pulses, sugar, cooking oils, and soft drinks in the capital city at discounted prices to help limited-income consumers.

The group employees continued their sales program on Monday with trucks standing at areas in the cities, including the National Press Club, Central Bank at Motijheel, and New Market.

Earlier, this program was launched in the Karwan Bazar area of the city on Friday, October 20th,  with the DG of the National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate, AHM Safikuzzaman, as Chief Guest there. Safik appreciated Deshbandhu’s initiative and advised other companies to do the same.

At the program, the managing director of Deshbandhu Group, Golam Rahman, said they had been producing food products and supplying the local market for the last 20 years. “We are selling food items now at a 5% discount in several spots in Dhaka, and we hope to expand such service to other cities soon,” he said.

The group is selling 5 kg of rice for only Tk200 for the comfort of low-income people.

Brigadier General (Rtd.) Zakir Hossain, a director of the company, was also present at the launching program.

Deshbandhu Group industries produce rice, sugar, soft drinks, cooking oil, cement, and polymer bags for the domestic market.
