B Mirror Report: The DSE Brokers Association of Bangladesh (DBA) has congratulated Ameer Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury on taking charge as the Minister of Finance and Planning.

In a message sent on Wednesday (February 18) on behalf of the DBA, the organization’s President Saiful Islam extended his congratulations. He also expressed sincere thanks and gratitude to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman for entrusting the newly elected minister with two key ministries.

The DBA President noted that Ameer Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury is a highly experienced and well-known figure in the country’s capital market. He played a leading role in establishing and developing the Chittagong Stock Exchange and, as the founding chairman, significantly contributed to strengthening the institutional foundation of the capital market, expanding the market, enhancing transparency, and building investor confidence.

The DBA further stated that he has previously served successfully as Minister of Commerce, contributing to the expansion of domestic and international trade, policy reforms, and the creation of an investment-friendly environment. The DBA expressed hope that his administrative and policy-making experience will be particularly helpful in performing his current responsibilities.

He has consistently been active in ensuring good governance, transparency, and professionalism in the capital market and has voiced support for the independent and effective role of the regulatory body, the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission. He has emphasized the importance of strengthening the capital market to boost the country’s investment climate and economic growth.

The DBA also highlighted that he previously served as President of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry and as the first President of the South Asian Federation of Exchanges, representing Bangladesh’s capital market at regional and international levels.
