DAP Fertilizer Company Limited (DAPFCL) has resumed production, one day after Karnaphuli Fertilizer Company (KAFCO) restarted its operations.
The factory, located in Anwara, Chattogram, resumed production at around 2:00 pm on Saturday.
Confirming the development, DAPFCL Managing Director Mohammad Moinul Haque said ammonia supply to the plant normalized after KAFCO resumed production on May 2. Following several days of ammonia stockpiling and technical preparations, the factory was able to restart operations on Saturday afternoon.
He added that the plant is currently capable of producing between 600 and 700 tonnes of urea daily while remaining operational.
DAPFCL had suspended production on April 18 due to an ammonia shortage.
The company, operated under the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) of the Ministry of Industries, began commercial production of DAP fertilizer in 2006 following the completion of its construction work.
