BM Desk : The declaration of Cox’s Bazar Airport as an “international” airport has been suspended even before any international flights could begin operation. An official government notification regarding the suspension will be issued within a day or two.
On Friday (October 24), Group Captain Md. Nur-e-Alam, President of the “International Flight Operations Committee” of Cox’s Bazar Airport, confirmed the information to journalists.
He stated that the government has suspended the declaration that had earlier designated Cox’s Bazar Airport as an international airport.
It is worth noting that on October 12, a government gazette officially declared Cox’s Bazar Airport as an international airport. In the following days, Biman Bangladesh Airlines and several other airlines had begun preparations to operate international flights. However, before flights could commence, the international status of the airport has now been suspended.
