B Mirror Report: Confidence Power & Energy PLC, a concern of Confidence Group, has begun the process of entering Bangladesh’s capital market through an initial public offering (IPO) under the book-building method.
As part of the IPO process, the company will hold a roadshow for eligible institutional investors this month, according to company sources.
The roadshow is scheduled to take place at 7:00pm on Sunday, October 18, at Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel in Dhaka. Investors will also be able to participate through a digital platform.
At the event, senior officials of Confidence Power & Energy will present the company’s business and financial performance, as well as its future plans.
Under the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission’s Public Offer of Equity Securities Rules, 2025, the company has invited all eligible investors (EIs), including institutional investors, to attend the roadshow.
Eligible investors under the rules include merchant bankers and portfolio managers, asset managers, stock dealers, banks, financial institutions, insurance companies, fund managers, alternative investment funds and investment schemes, and the National Pension Authority, among others.
UCB Investment Limited is serving as the issue manager for Confidence Power & Energy’s IPO, while Prime Bank Investment PLC is acting as the issue registrar.
Confidence Group already has a listed company in the capital market—Confidence Cement PLC, which was listed in 1995.
According to information from the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), Confidence Cement had paid-up capital of Tk 862.5 million, represented by 86.25 million shares. Sponsors held 30.34% of the company, institutional investors held 37.34%, and general investors held 33.32%.
The company reported earnings per share (EPS) of Tk 11.23 for the 2024-25 financial year. For that year, it paid a 10% dividend to shareholders, equivalent to Tk 1 per share.
