Community Bank & Nagad forge strategic partnership

  1. Community Bank Bangladesh PLC. has entered into a strategic partnership with Nagad, a mobile financial service provider, to expand easy, fast and seamless digital financial services for its customers. The partnership will facilitate enhanced access to remittance, Add Money and fund transfer services, while creating new opportunities for Community Bank to extend its service reach through Nagad’s extensive network.

The agreement was formally signed on Thursday at the head office of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC. at Police Plaza Concord, Dhaka. Managing Director of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC. Mohammed Emtiaz Uddin and Bangladesh Bank-appointed Administrator of Nagad Md. Motassim Billah signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

Under the agreement, Community Bank customers will be able to directly ‘Add Money’ to their Nagad wallets. The partnership will also facilitate two-way fund transfers between Community Bank accounts and Nagad wallets, making customers’ day-to-day digital transactions more convenient and efficient.

A key area of the partnership will be the expansion of remittance services. Foreign remittances received through Community Bank will be disbursed to beneficiaries through Nagad’s extensive network, enabling customers, particularly those in underserved and remote areas, to receive and access remittance more conveniently.

The partnership will also facilitate smoother customer onboarding and system integration between the two organizations. These initiatives are expected to further strengthen Community Bank’s digital service capabilities and expand its customer reach.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohammed Emtiaz Uddin, Managing Director of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC. said, “This strategic partnership with Nagad creates an important opportunity for Community Bank to take our services to a wider customer base by leveraging Nagad’s strong network and digital capabilities. Particularly in remittance and digital transactions, this partnership will help us provide our customers with simpler, faster and more effective services. We believe this collaboration will contribute significantly to expanding our digital services and enhancing customer experience.”

Md. Motassim Billah, Bangladesh Bank-appointed Administrator of Nagad, said, “We are expanding our partnerships with banks to ensure easier and faster digital financial services for customers. Our collaboration with Community Bank opens up greater opportunities to provide important services such as remittance, Add Money and fund transfer in a more convenient manner.”

Senior officials from both organizations were present at the agreement signing ceremony.
