The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Finance has recommended that the Bank Resolution (Amendment) Bill, 2026 be passed in Parliament in an amended form after detailed scrutiny and review.
The recommendation was made at the third meeting of the committee of the 13th Parliament held on Saturday at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban. Committee Chairman Mushfiqur Rahman presided over the meeting.
The committee thoroughly examined and reviewed the proposed bill before recommending its passage with amendments.
Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni, Moinul Islam Khan, Md Shahadat Hossain, Md Saiful Alam and Syed Zainul Abedin, all members of the committee, attended the meeting.
The Secretary of the Financial Institutions Division and the Finance Division, senior officials of Bangladesh Bank, and officials concerned from the Ministry of Finance and the Parliament Secretariat were also present.
