The Ministry of Commerce has opened a control room to ensure proper management of rawhides during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.

The information was disclosed in a notice signed by Deputy Secretary Nasrin Sultana on Sunday.

According to the notice, an inter-ministerial meeting was held on April 12 to review issues related to the proper management of sacrificial animal hides during Eid-ul-Azha 2026. The meeting decided to broadcast text messages on all television channels across the country highlighting proper methods of skinning sacrificial animals, applying adequate salt to rawhides, and ensuring effective preservation and management of collected hides.

The ministry also said a control room has been set up to monitor and coordinate rawhide management activities during the Eid season.
